Triangle StartUp Factory

World Class Accelerator

Triangle Startup Factory will be the centerpiece of a thriving entrepreneurial infrastructure in Durham.
A lot of the elements for success have been present for years: highly skilled entrepreneurs, the drive to
succeed, and a congenial living environment to house a company. To this mix Chris and I bring a focused
approach based on the best ideas for testing and proving business models for a startup , a new source of
capital and our unmatched enthusiasm for working with early stage companies.

We are adding the missing ingredient for local IT and mobile startups, building on the existing resources
of the community to propel the Triangle to new heights in entrepreneurship. If my partner Chris was
not a model for the “connectors” described in Malcolm Gladwell’s The Tipping Point, the author may
have missed an opportunity. He has spent the last three years working on the problem of how to build
a world-class accelerator in the RTP area. In the process, he has met and established relationships with
most of the startup ecosystem in this area.

This human capital will be at the center of our efforts for nothing is accomplished with this element. I
look forward to the journey.
